Some students announce themselves loudly. Aarav Shori has never needed to. Quiet, focused and relentless in his own understated way, he has spent years letting his work speak for him. This summer, it spoke louder than ever.
Aarav has scored an exceptional 1540 on the SAT, out of a maximum of 1600, placing him in the 99th percentile for Mathematics and the 98th percentile for Reading and Writing. It is a result that ranks among the very best in the world, and one that opens the door to the most selective universities anywhere. But to understand what that number really represents, you have to go back to where his journey began.
Aarav joined U Global Academy during his IGCSE years, at a stage when many students are still working out how they learn best. What he needed was the right environment: small classes where he could be seen, teachers who could stretch him, and the structure to turn natural ability into consistent results. He found all three.
His mentors kept him accountable, his teachers pushed him further than a crowded classroom ever could, and a structured school day gave his ambition a framework to grow within.
The results followed. Across his IGCSEs, Aarav earned a run of top grades, four of them A*s, in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Spanish. It was the kind of foundation that makes everything after it possible.
Rather than stop there, he took on a demanding Advanced Placement load, sitting eleven AP subjects and earning AP Scholar with Distinction in 2025. His results include five 5s, across AP World History: Modern, Environmental Science, Microeconomics, and Computer Science A, with further AP subjects in Calculus BC, Chemistry, and Physics C: Mechanics. Each result built on the last, and a clear picture emerged: a young scholar equally at home in the sciences, mathematics, economics and the humanities.
So when his SAT score came back at 1540, it surprised no one who had watched him work. It was not a lucky day. It was the natural next step in a story of steady, deliberate progress, and the clearest sign yet of just how far his ambition can take him.
Now Aarav’s focus turns firmly towards university. Working closely with his dedicated U Global Academy university counsellor, he is shaping a profile and a shortlist worthy of his talent, thinking carefully not only about where he might study, but about the person he wants to become. His next chapter takes him to the United States through the Baret Scholars Programme, a competitive experiential gap year that will broaden his horizons before he applies.
